The VDX3-6755 is a new rugged PC/104 single board computer (SBC) with 1.0 GHz DM&P Vortex86 DX3 processor with EtherCAT support for ISA bus-based industrial control technologies. The new VDX3-6755 PC/104 SBC with 2GB DDR3 not only offers native ISA bus support without bridges and full PC/104 compliance, but also full support of the open EtherCAT standard for networked control automation technologies in real-time environments. OEMs benefit from an increased return on investment by being able to use their existing ISA bus-based applications for another seven years.
To adapt to field applications in harsh environments, ICOP’s new PC/104 SBC is equipped with a CAN 2.0 bus module and two RS-232 interfaces that are fully isolated against overvoltages of up to 2.5 kV for power and signal lines. The RS485 is protected against electrostatic discharge (ESD) of +/- 15kV. It also supports the extended temperature range of -20°C to + 70°C.
The integrated DM&P Vortex86 DX3 GPU delivers powerful graphics and supports full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 Hertz, dual display for VGA and 24-bit LVDS, and optional video capture functions. This also makes the new PC/104 board suitable for cost-efficient image processing systems in pick & place and inspection applications.
For Ethernet and EtherCAT connectivity, the PC/104 VDX3-6755 SBC is equipped with a Gigabit LAN based on the RTL8111F PCIe LAN chip and a processor-integrated R6040 10/100Mbps LAN supporting the Acontis EtherCAT master stack for real-time Linux and DOS.
ICOP’s PC/104 SBC supports a wide range of operating systems – from DOS to Windows CE6.0, CE7.0, Windows 7, WES7, Windows XP Professional, Windows Embedded Standard (XPe), POS Ready (WePOS) and Embedded Linux, X-Linux and Linux to QNX (BSP), VxWorks (BSP) and FreeBSD.
