Modern trains feature attention-grabbing passenger information systems and easily inform passengers of the train’s current location, allowing them to better plan their journey and increasing passenger comfort and satisfaction. Passenger information systems (PIS) can be broadcast via screens and/or loudspeakers and include information such as route maps, entertainment, advertisements, the train’s current location, next stops, line number, train destination, estimated departure time, estimated arrival time and connections, as well as weather information and information about service disruptions.

The configuration and diagnostics display is used to enter a train route, which is displayed on the internal LCD and external LED panels. The information entered into the configuration and diagnostics display is sent to the vehicle’s control unit and forwarded to the PPC-150T PC panel via an Ethernet connection.
Icop’s Romanian partner TEHMIN-BRAȘOV undertook this project and chose Icop’s system for its stable performance in an environment where resistance to shock and vibration is critical.
